The Odds Are in Your Favor

Written by Union EAP | May 30, 2025 6:44:38 PM

Sometimes life feels simply overwhelming. We often compare our present to our desired future and feelings of frustration seep in. We wonder: How can I have the life I want? Why are things not working out the way I want them to?

Feeling like we are not enough can negatively impact our mental health. Some may find themselves feeling depressed and anxious about our future.

Developing an attitude of gratitude can feel impossible if we focus on our circumstances.

Simply leaning into gratitude can change your mental state instantly!

Consider this:

Over 300 million people play Mega Millions each year. People’s desire for wealth, freedom, and a better future drive them to invest in a chance for millions of dollars. Many assume that if they were to win, their lives would be better in every way -- happier, more confident, more adventurous.

Many of us assume that we would be free to actually enjoy our lives for maybe the first time.

In the past decade, over 3 billion tickets have been sold, but only 68 people have won the jackpot in that same time.
That’s a 1 in 302,575,350 chance. It is very clear that the odds are not in your favor.

What if I told you that you’ve already won a lottery—one far more unlikely than the Mega Millions?

The Odds of Winning the Mega Millions is only 1 in 302 million

But The Odds that YOU would be born is 1 in 400 trillion

Your existence is a mathematical miracle.
If one single moment in your ancestry had played out differently…
If your great-great-grandparents would have never met…
If anyone in your bloodline had experienced infertility…

You. Wouldn’t. Exist.

Think About that!

We often forget just how rare and incredible life is. When challenges hit or doubt seeps in, we ask ourselves:
Am I enough? Is this all there is? Should I keep going?

The answer is already written in your existence:
You are supposed to be here.
The universe aligned against staggering probability to make you. That means your life matters—immensely.

So, What Now?

What would change if you lived every day knowing you're already a winner?

Would you live with more gratitude?
Would you take more chances?
Would you believe in your own worth just a little more?

You don’t need a jackpot to prove your value.
You are the jackpot.

Congratulations — You Won.

And I’m so glad you did. Let’s make it count.

Always,
