ABOUT US - We help unions develop sustainable, recovery-friendly workplaces and improve the lives of union members by partnering to address mental health, substance use, financial and legal challenges. Our national network of Care Coordinators offers prevention education, responds to emergent crises, and helps members and their families access a comprehensive continuum of high-quality services. Our phones are staffed by Care Coordinators, licensed and trained clinicians who are available 24/7/365 to be able to help members in real time with any situation, anytime. Union EAP works for members and is committed to normalizing asking for help.

  • CEO Ben Cort
  • COO Melissa Burke, LCSW
Ben Cort and Melissa Burke, LCSW, founded Union EAP on the belief that there is a better way to provide EAP services to union members. That belief drove them to create Union EAP, and their deep personal experiences drives us to make it better every day.

Our mission is to transform and elevate the level and quality of individual and family support beyond traditional Employee Assistance Programs. Unlike traditional EAPs, which limit sessions, our Care Coordinators provide education, support and fully vetted referrals to members on an unlimited basis. Ensuring that our staff is available at all times allows us to quickly connect and build a rapport with each member in need. We know that we may have only one chance to earn the trust of our members, so we have built a program that delivers personalized, confidential and effective support to them. Our goal is to make much needed support easy, reliable and effective, even for members who wouldn't usually reach out for help.
