Workplace Resolution · Peer conflict support

When coworkers clash, we help you work it out.

Ongoing friction with a coworker wears on everyone. Workplace Resolution is a free, confidential, two-session program where a neutral Union EAP Care Coordinator helps two members talk it through and agree on a better way to work together.

Neutral by design

Not about who’s right. About what works.

Your facilitator doesn’t take sides, assign blame or report to anyone. The goal is simple: each person feels heard, and you both leave with clear, fair expectations for working together.

Workplace Resolution is voluntary for both members. It isn’t discipline, an investigation or a replacement for your union or employer process.

What to expect

2 sessions

Two 60-minute Zoom meetings about a week apart, at times that work for both of you.

Private

A short reflection worksheet between sessions. Your answers stay yours; you choose what to share.

Follow-up

A written action plan and a check-in at 7, 14 or 30 days to see how things are going.

How it works

Five steps to a better working relationship

1. Private intakeA Care Coordinator talks with each member separately to hear concerns and make sure a joint conversation is safe and a good fit.
2. Understanding the conflictIn Session 1, each person shares their perspective without interruption, and together you set ground rules and first agreements.
3. Reflect on your ownBetween sessions, each member completes a private worksheet and tries one calm “I” statement.
4. Moving forwardIn Session 2, you practice working through a real disagreement and each commit to two specific, doable actions.
5. Check inWe follow up at 7, 14 or 30 days and connect you with more support if you need it.

Ground rules

Five expectations for every conversation

  • One person speaks at a time, without interruptions.
  • Speak respectfully, even when you disagree.
  • Use specific examples instead of personal attacks.
  • Focus on what can change moving forward.
  • Listen, and take responsibility for your own actions.
