Workplace Resolution · Peer conflict support
When coworkers clash, we help you work it out.
Ongoing friction with a coworker wears on everyone. Workplace Resolution is a free, confidential, two-session program where a neutral Union EAP Care Coordinator helps two members talk it through and agree on a better way to work together.
Neutral by design
Not about who’s right. About what works.
Your facilitator doesn’t take sides, assign blame or report to anyone. The goal is simple: each person feels heard, and you both leave with clear, fair expectations for working together.
Workplace Resolution is voluntary for both members. It isn’t discipline, an investigation or a replacement for your union or employer process.
What to expect
Two 60-minute Zoom meetings about a week apart, at times that work for both of you.
A short reflection worksheet between sessions. Your answers stay yours; you choose what to share.
A written action plan and a check-in at 7, 14 or 30 days to see how things are going.
How it works
Five steps to a better working relationship
Ground rules
Five expectations for every conversation
- One person speaks at a time, without interruptions.
- Speak respectfully, even when you disagree.
- Use specific examples instead of personal attacks.
- Focus on what can change moving forward.
- Listen, and take responsibility for your own actions.
Is it the right fit?
A good fit: miscommunication, clashing expectations, tension or resentment that keeps coming back between two members.
Not a fit for joint sessions: threats, violence, harassment, discrimination, retaliation or an open investigation. Reach out anyway. A Care Coordinator will talk with you privately and help you find the right path. If anyone is in danger, call 911.
Your privacy comes first
Confidential, always.
Union EAP is a neutral space for members. We don’t act as a go-between for employers or locals, and we keep records to a minimum.
- Notes are brief and stored securely. Your private worksheet answers are never collected.
- Agreements are voluntary and are never used as discipline or as a finding about anyone.
- We explain the limits of confidentiality up front, including safety obligations.
